Professor,
doctoral and post-doctoral supervisor, was born
in Harbin 11 1944. She is the current director
of Nutrition and Food Hygiene Department of
Public Health School of Harbin Medical University.
In 1988 and 2001, she went to Sydney University
of Australia and Texas University of United
State as a visit scholar. Now, she is the vice
chairman of Association of Environmental Mutagen
Society, Nutrition Society of Heilongjiang province,
and the member of a series of academic groups
such as Section of Food Toxicology of Chinese
Society of Toxicology, National Natural Science
Foundation Committee of China, Chinese Nutrient
Society and Food Codex Committee of China, et
al.
Professor Wu had been the chief man to carry
out 4 NFSC projects, 3 province key projects
and the main person to carry out 1 key NFSC
project. In the past decade, she won 7 Science
Progress Awards of province level and some other
fruits and honors. As the chief editor or co-editor,
she had written several national planning textbooks,
especially the 5th edition of Nutrition and
Food Hygiene. Nowadays, her mainly focused on
the research of chemo-prevention of cancer and
the bioactivity of phytochenmicals. Over 50
of her academic papers have been published,
and among them 7 have been covered by SCI. In
2004, professor Wu was honored as the Model
teacher of the Nation.Up to now, professor Wu
has supervised 5 graduated doctor candidates,
12 postgraduates.

| Cheng
Shujun is currently as a professor of Cancer
Institute (Hospital), Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences
& Peking Union Medical College, Beijing, China,
and Chief Scientist of both China State Key Basic
Research Project “Fundamental investigation of human
carcinogenesis and cancer therapy and prevention”
and Beijing key Cancer Research Project “Tumor biomarker
profiling and human cancer diagnosis and therapy”.
He worked as a visiting scientist in Laboratoire de
Medicine Experimental, Institute de la Recherches
Scientifiques sur le Cancer, France (1978-1981), and
in Department of Pathology, Medical College of Ohio,
USA (1986-1987). He has established a series of short-term
tests for the detection of environmental carcinogens
and anti-carcinogens in China. He was elected as a
Member, Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1999. Dr.
Cheng is the President of Chinese Environmental Mutagen
Society, and Vice President of China Anticancer Association.
He found that the tea catechins showed a significant
inhibitory effect against human genital condylomas
and inflammatory hyperplasia. Based on the invention,
he and his collaborators had received international
patents “Composition for treating condyloma acuminate”
in 1998. This invention had been approved to go for
clinical phase III trial by US FDA. As invited speakers,
Dr. Cheng has visited many institutes at foreign countries
and attended at international conferences. |
