Male,
born in Chongqing City, Sichuan Province in
November of 1944 and his hometown is Fuxu City,
Jilin Province. He graduated from Hubei Medical
College, worked as clinician for 13 years, then
he focuses on the teaching and researching in
the field of Public Health for 24 years. He
has been the vice President and the President
of previous Henan Medical University, vice President
of the New Zhengzhou University , Master Mentor,
Ph.D Mentor from December of 1991 to May of
2005. He worked as a visiting scholar in the
Department of Occupational Health in McGill
University in Canada during the years of 1988
through 1990 and then had visited the countries
including the U.S., Japan ,Great Britain, France
,Austria ect. His main researches involves the
etiology of lung cancer at early stage, prevention
and mechanism of silicosis, bronchi-lungs-lavage.
He undertakes 28 research grants with 3.333
million yuan. He published 182 scientific papers,
some of which were indexed by SCI, CA. He wrote
21 professional books and one of them was prized
the first top nation-wide. He advised 37 Masters
and 13 Doctors. Now he is a member of IAEMS
,the vice board chairman of CAEMS, the chairman
of Committee of Immunotoxicology of Chinese
Toxicology Association, the vice chairman of
Committee of Toxicology of Chinese Prevention
Association and the vice editor of Carcinogenesis,
Teratogenesis & Mutagenesis, a member of
the forth editorial board of the Chinese Journal
of Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Diseases.

| Cheng
Shujun is currently as a professor of Cancer
Institute (Hospital), Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences
& Peking Union Medical College, Beijing, China,
and Chief Scientist of both China State Key Basic
Research Project “Fundamental investigation of human
carcinogenesis and cancer therapy and prevention”
and Beijing key Cancer Research Project “Tumor biomarker
profiling and human cancer diagnosis and therapy”.
He worked as a visiting scientist in Laboratoire de
Medicine Experimental, Institute de la Recherches
Scientifiques sur le Cancer, France (1978-1981), and
in Department of Pathology, Medical College of Ohio,
USA (1986-1987). He has established a series of short-term
tests for the detection of environmental carcinogens
and anti-carcinogens in China. He was elected as a
Member, Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1999. Dr.
Cheng is the President of Chinese Environmental Mutagen
Society, and Vice President of China Anticancer Association.
He found that the tea catechins showed a significant
inhibitory effect against human genital condylomas
and inflammatory hyperplasia. Based on the invention,
he and his collaborators had received international
patents “Composition for treating condyloma acuminate”
in 1998. This invention had been approved to go for
clinical phase III trial by US FDA. As invited speakers,
Dr. Cheng has visited many institutes at foreign countries
and attended at international conferences. |
