Abstract: The Oregon K system of Drosophila melanogaster was employed for the detection of germ cell aneuploid induced by hydroquinone (HQ) and colchicine (COL) . Adult flies were treated by feeding the chemicals. HQ at doses 12218mg/ ml and COL (2. 5 - 20μg/ ml) significantly induced the exceptional off spring (XXY, XO) derived f rom aneuploidy germ cells. It was showed than COL had much higher efficiency on aneuploid induction than HQ and shared a strong effect on chromosome lossing in treated parental males. No significant sex differences among HQ t reated animals for the chromosome lossing and mal2segregation in germ cell development were found. The experiment indicated that HQ and COL are aneugens in Drosophila germ cells.
