Abstract: BACKGROUND & AIM: To explore the potential mutagenicity of emamectin benzoate. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The potential mutagenicity of emamectin was examined with Ames test, micronucleus test of polychromatic erythrocytes in bone marrow and chromosomal aberration test of spermatocytes in mice. RESULTS: The number of revertant colonies was no more than twice that of spontaneous colonies for each dosage group. Compared with the control group, there was no significant difference in the ratio of micronucleus and the ratio of chromosomal aberration for each dosage group(P>0.05). CONCLUSION: No mutagenicity of emamectin benzoate was found.
