Abstract: BACKGROUND ＆ AIM：To detect mutation and teratogenicity of Danshen tea which is a natural food. MATERIAL AND METHODS： The water extract of Danshen tea was examined by the mice bone marrow cell micronucleus test,the mice sperm abormality test,Ames test and the teratogenicity study. RESULTS：The micronucleusfreguency and the freguency of sperm aberrtion were not significantly different compared with the control.The mutated colonie in 3 exposure groups was less than double of that of the controls.There are not Maternity, toxicity.embry toxicity and teratogenicity, CONCLUSION： The mutation and of Danshen tea are not detected on these condions.
